Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee . . .
He was the Greatest,
He was ALI!

MUHAMMAD ALI was, arguably, the most famous athlete of the 20th Century. Charismatic, controversial, courageous, bodaciously loquacious, flamboyant, uniquely talented and religiously devoted — Ali was all of these things and more. He was, truly, a one-of-a-kind sports icon the likes of which will never be seen again. Was his dynamic persona built on luck? Of course not. Ali, like all of us, was a manifestation of his numbers and the amalgam of energies they represent.

Muhammad Ali was born Cassius Marcellus Clay, Jr. on 17 January 1942. He changed his name when he became a member of Islam. Ali's Basic Matrix, based on his natal/birth name, reveals the energies of his fame.

Basic Matrix - Cassius Marcellus Clay, Jr.

Lifepath: 7

A 7 in the Lifepath indicates a life whose lessons, influences, subjects and themes (LIST) will focus on spiritual, ethical and moral testing, inward dwelling, analysis, examination, critical thinking and reflection. No number is capable of elevating the individual to great spiritual heights more than the 7. However, on its negative side, no number has greater potential for creating havoc, betrayal, turmoil and suffering than the 7. The 7 Lifepath is powerful. It is challenging. It can be glorious or demonic depending on how the individual manages its energies.

When the 7 is present in the Lifepath, the admonition is keep it pure — morally, ethically, spiritually. That's the main lesson. If one veers off this path and chooses not to conduct oneself accordingly, the results will not be comfortable and the karmic effects could well last for lifetimes beyond measure. It is a great privilege to have the number 7 in the Lifepath for it offers the individual an opportunity to advance to higher levels, an opportunity not offered by any other number.

Muhammad Ali's 7 Lifepath certainly placed him squarely in the middle of its testing. His life was not easy. In a way, his boxing career, with its natural conflict of juxtaposing fighter against fighter, perfectly exemplified his overall life and its struggles. In his early days, Ali was hated by a large segment of society for his refusal to serve in the military, which many people considered to be an ignominious display of ingratitude for all that America had given him. Ali also had multiple marriages, religious differences with much of America and, of course, his decades-long struggle with Parkinson's Disease.

Here's a quote one should always remember regarding the number 7, which is common to so many great souls throughout history, such as George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, Albert Einstein, William Shakespeare, Henry Wadsworth Longfellow — the list is endless. The quote is from Kahlil Gibran, author of "The Prophet" and other works.

Out of suffering have emerged the strongest souls; the most massive characters are seared with scars.

Expression: 66-3, 3 Soul and 33/(66)/99 Crown Pinnacle

The master number 66-3 references a love of words, self-expression and communication. A 3 Soul indicates a primal need for self-expression (even vanity), words, communication, joy, friends; a 33/(66)/99 Crown Pinnacle is a massive energy pattern of artistry, words, communication, the public stage and dominance. The Crown Pinnacle is the highest point in a numerology chart, its energies raining downward on the entire life, showering the individual with its vibrations. And here's an interesting note: the name Muhammad Ali generates a 33-6 energy, compounding and corroborating all the other 3 and 6 energies in his chart.

To be sure, Muhammad Ali loved to talk and use language to intimidate his opponents. In fact, one of the unbecoming monikers laid on him for the verbal abuse of his adversaries was The Louisville Lip. Here are just a few examples . . .

Of Joe Frazier and their title fight billed as the Fight of the Century, Ali mused,

It will be a killa...and a chilla...and a thrilla...when I get the gorilla in Manila.

Of Sonny Liston he exclaimed,

Sonny Liston's so ugly that when he cries, the tears run down the back of his head!

Of George Foreman he observed,

I've seen George Foreman shadow boxing and the shadow won!

Of long time reporter Howard Cosell he stated,

Journalist Howard Cosell was gonna be a boxer when he was a kid,
only they couldn't find a mouthpiece big enough
!

And regarding himself, Ali had many positive things to say . . .

I'm the greatest, I'm a bad man, and I'm pretty.

I am the greatest. I said that even before I knew I was.

It's hard to be humble when you're as great as I am.

I'm not the greatest. I'm the double greatest. Not only do I knock 'em out, I pick the round.

I am the astronaut of boxing. Joe Louis and Dempsey were just jet pilots. I'm in a world of my own.

You've got to love it. It's hard not to. Ali certainly had a sense of humor, a way with words, and no lack of modesty. Yet, when taken in context, it is also quite endearing. Frankly, all of Ali's remarks and outlandish behavior were just part and parcel of the show, of the greatest boxing show, of all time.

Performance/Experience (PE): 55-1 & 55-1 Material Soul

The master number 55-1 is the energy of the rebel, the revolutionary, the maverick, the lone wolf, the free and independent spirit that is truly one-of-a-kind and can even be considered a law unto itself. The 55-1 is uncontrollable. It does its own thing. It is unconventional, non-traditional, unique and full of fire. In fact, the 55-1 is the only pure fire master number.

The Performance/Experience (PE) is that part of a King's Numerology chart that defines the role a person will give in life. Thus, for Ali to have the 55-1 in his PE position meant that it was in his destiny to be unique, to be different, to be uncontrollable, and to be a leader. Without a doubt, Muhammad Ali changed the face of boxing, and it would be hard to counter the argument that he was the sole center of the Golden Age of Boxing. Ali revolutionized boxing, forever.

With the 55-1 also residing in his Material Soul, Ali had a burning desire to be the rebel, the revolutionary, the one who brings change. Combined with his 55-1 PE, his 55-1 Material Soul made Muhammad Ali an unstoppable instrument of change and revolution. Not only was the 55-1 the role of his life, but it was also his worldly desire, need, want and motivation, and, boy, did he ever change the world of boxing. It is no wonder he became the extraordinary icon the world sees him as.

Nature: 9

The number 9 is the number of power, dominance, universality and rulership. Symbols for the 9 include the crown, scepter, throne and microphone. The 9 expands and broadcasts. It is all people because it contains all numbers within it. The 9 also reflects all numbers to themselves. The 9 is the energy of charisma. Its appellations include The Grand Elemental, Grand Amplifier, Grand Ruler.

Ali's 9 Nature gave him a charismatic personality. He identified with all people and people all over the world identified with him because he was them, he reflected the energies of others to themselves. Coupled with his 33/(66)/99 Crown Pinnacle and his 9/(3)/3 1st Pinnacle, there is no way he could not have been a powerful public figure. 9 is the energy that places anyone on the public stage to some degree.

Material Nature: 88-7

Muhammad Ali was extremely devoted to his Muslim faith, from which he never waivered. The 88-7 master number in his Material Nature was reflective of his devotion. No master number is more spiritually charged than the 88-7. It powerfully connects (88) the spirit (7) to its source.

Voids: 2-6-8

Many of the troubles Ali had in his life were a result of his voids: 2, 6, and 8. These are all social energies. The number 2 references others, opponents, adversaries, relationships, females in general. A 2 void often manifests as a lack of concern for others on a personal level. In fact, many famous boxers have a 2 void. How could they not? If the 2 were not voided they might be more caring in their dealings with others. In Ali's own words . . .

It's just a job. Grass grows, birds fly, waves pound the sand. I beat people up.

The 6 void and the 8 void are both rooted in the 2's energy of relationship. When 6 is void in a chart, there is the high possibility of issues involving love, a lack of love, a need/want/desire to love and be loved; family problems, domestic issues and so forth. A 6 void can also reflect in negative energies being experienced in one's life, energies such as hatred, envy, jealousy, resentment, general discord. Ali was married multiple times, and he was frankly hated by a large number of the population in his early career. It was the 6 void of personal love that was the centermost aspect of these love issues.

The number 8 rules social interaction, connection/disconnection, engagement/disengagement, management/mismanagement, involvement and non-involvement. The 8 void usually represents an inability to connect the dots or to have things run smoothly and efficiently. Ali's life was never smooth. In studying his life and its events it would be hard to argue otherwise.

Physical Decline & Parkinson's Disease

One of the avenues numerology can be of great help to mankind is in the relationship between numbers and disease. In fact, medical numerology could easily be its own specialized field. Just as the medical profession has its own specialties, so could numerology. It is such a vast science whose potential for helping mankind is vast.

The King's Numerology believes there is a direct correlation between Muhammad Ali's numbers and his Parkinson's disease. There are multiple reasons for this. First, Ali's Grand Pinnacle/Challenge Couplet is an 8v/(3)/2v. This 8v/(3)/2v Influence/Reality Set (IR Set) also occurs in his Crown Challenge. Ali also has a second Grand and Crown Challenge of 1/(3)/22v-4. Here's how they could possibly be related to his Parkinson's Disease.

First, the Parkinson's Disease Foundation states this:

Parkinson's disease (PD) is a chronic and progressive movement disorder, meaning that symptoms continue and worsen over time. Nearly one million people in the US are living with Parkinson's disease. The cause is unknown, and although there is presently no cure, there are treatment options such as medication and surgery to manage its symptoms.

Parkinson’s involves the malfunction and death of vital nerve cells in the brain, called neurons. Parkinson's primarily affects neurons in an area of the brain called the substantia nigra. Some of these dying neurons produce dopamine, a chemical that sends messages to the part of the brain that controls movement and coordination. As PD progresses, the amount of dopamine produced in the brain decreases, leaving a person unable to control movement normally.

The 8v/(3)/2v energy pattern reveals a disconnection (8v) through a filter of health, well-being and life (3) which produces negative results in the realm of relationship (2v). "Relationship" is of all kinds — social, familial, romantic, adversarial, physical.

Additionally, Ali's second Challenge IR Set is a 1/(3)/22v-4. Here we see the energy of self (1) passing through the energy field of health, well-being and life (3) to generate adverse structural issues and complications in the physical body (4), which is made adverse because of the voided 22 master energy of relationship. This 1/(3)/22v-4 pattern also reveals a weakness (22v) of the body's immune system as well as its overall strength (4).

Ali was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease in 1984 at the age of 42, just three years after he entered his Grand Challenge dual IR Sets of 8v/(3)/2v and 1/(3)/22v-4. Concurrent with the 8v/(3)/2v Grand Challenge was his 8v/(3)/2v Grand Pinnacle (they share the same timeline). The Grand Pinnacle reveals what is on the surface of one's life. In other words, the "outer world" can see what's going on with us via the Pinnacles. The Challenges are submerged and not visible to the public. Muhammad Ali's Parkinson's Disease was both visible to the public (his 8v/(3)/2v Grand Pinnacle), as well as being a personal, private struggle for him (his 8v/(3)/2v and 1/(3)/22-4 Challenges). Furthermore, his condition, which was diagnosed at age 42, continued to worsen until his death on 3 June 2016 at the age of 74. This is validated in his numbers — Grand Pinnacle; Grand and Crown Challenges — which remained active to the end of this life.

The King's Numerology has witnessed many cases where all kinds of physical, emotional and mental problems/issues can be identified by a person's numbers. It therefore feels strongly that if the medical field and its practitioners were to develop an interest in the relationship between one's numbers and any afflicting physical conditions and/or diseases, such work would be an invaluable asset to mankind.

Summary

Muhammad Ali, born Cassius Marcellus Clay Jr. on 17 January 1942 and passing from this world on 3 June 2016, has indeed become an icon in American and world history. This brief article has lightly touched on the relationship between his numbers and his life, describing through numbers why his life and destiny were as they were. Richard, I just finished reading your first two books: "The King's Book of Numerology, Volumes 1 and 2."
Your overall approach makes more sense to me than any other author on the subject. In my quest to not
just learn but to truly understand and apply Numerology, I’ve read Matthew Oliver, Hanz Decoz, Juno Jorden,
Joanne Justice, Chero, Lloyd Stayhorn, Lynn Buess, Heather Lagen, Julian Moore, and others. I am grateful
to each of these authors as I did learn learn much from them. Yet, to me there seemed to be a missing synthesis
as each author emphasized elements of divination somewhat differently, and at times, contradictory.

Richard, your approach is comprehensive and layered, seemingly leaving no numerical-stone unturned.
The beginner will appreciate your initial simplicity and unique narrative that clearly connect this subject to its
underlying spiritual-context in which all Numerology is based. Afterwards, the way you move into a multi-layered
synthesis, more representative of the human condition than any approach I’ve experienced, is extraordinary.

Simply, this work is Immensely useful and actionable! After all, the motivation as to why we engage in Numerology
is far more universal than to simply access insights into “who we are," “what makes us and others tick” —
it is to live the best life possible!
